Maharashtra Eyes First State-Level Land Tokenisation Framework: CM Fadnavis
India, Sept. 9 -- Maharashtra is working to establish India's first state-level legal framework for blockchain-based tokenisation of land and other immovable assets, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said.
Speaking at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai, Fadnavis said the state is developing the architecture for the proposed Maharashtra Digitisation and Exchange of Land Token Asset (DELTA) Act.
This comes after Fadnavis directed state officials in July to draft the legislation and constitute an expert committee comprising representatives from SEBI, BSE, and NSE, along with academics and experts from the technology and legal sectors.
