India, Aug. 28 -- Over a month after Hero MotoCorp's board approved an investment in Ather Energy, the auto giant has now bought 1.18 Cr shares of the EV maker for Rs.1,758 Cr.

"We would like to inform you that the company has completed the purchase of 1,18,80,000 equity shares in Ather, for a total consideration of Rs.1,758 Cr," Hero MotoCorp said in a filing with the exchanges.

This comes a month after Hero MotoCorp announced that it would invest an additional Rs.1,000 Cr (about $103 Mn) in the electric two-wheeler maker.

Post the deal, Hero MotoCorp's total stake in Ather will increase to about 32.8%. As of June 2026, the auto giant owned a 29.48% stake in the EV major.
