Discovered Materials Raises $9 Mn For AI-Led Semiconductor Material Discovery
India, Aug. 11 -- AI-powered materials discovery startup Discovered Materials has raised $9 Mn (about Rs.85.9 Cr) in a seed funding round led by Lightspeed India Partners.
The round also saw participation from Y Combinator and Peak XV Partners, along with angel investors including Paul Graham, Gokul Rajaram and Thariq Shihipar.
The San Francisco-based startup plans to deploy the fresh capital to expand its team and laboratory infrastructure and scale its AI agents for materials research.
Founded in 2026 by IIT Madras alumni Advaith Sridhar and Akash Ramdas, Discovered Materials is building AI agents to automate parts of the materials discovery process for chips, including simulation, synthesis and experimental validation.
