India, Feb. 24 -- Deepinder Goyal-backed aviation startup LAT Aerospace has acquired early-stage defence tech startup Sharang Shakti to foray into the defence tech segment.

In a LinkedIn post, Goyal said this is LAT Aerospace's first attempt towards building indigenous defence capabilities along with its long-term vision of developing a civil aviation platform.

"Civil aviation and defence are often viewed as separate sectors. But the core technology stack is shared across autonomy, perception, sensing, navigation, guidance, and control systems," Goyal added.

With this acquisition, LAT Aerospace plans to build these capabilities in-house and deploy them across defence and civil aviation space.
