Blinkit's Mumbai Facility Licence Suspended After FDA Finds Cockroach Infestation
India, Aug. 11 -- The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the food licence of a Blinkit facility in Mumbai's Malad West after an inspection uncovered an extensive cockroach infestation and several food-safety violations.
The inspection, conducted on August 7, found "extremely unhygienic" conditions, improper food storage, inadequate cleaning of the cold-storage area and expired, damaged or tampered packaged food products, according to the FDA, as reported by PTI.
The action was part of the Maharashtra FDA's statewide enforcement drive aimed at ensuring compliance with food-safety standards.
