Applied Materials Commits $5 Bn To Boost India's Semiconductor Ecosystem
India, Sept. 17 -- US-based semiconductor equipment and materials-engineering company Applied Materials has announced a $5 Bn (Rs.47,980.8 Cr) investment commitment as part of its Applied Materials India Vision 2035.
Prabhu Raja, president of the semiconductor products group at Applied Materials, made the commitment while addressing the SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, today.
This investment will be used over the next decade to accelerate and integrate India's semiconductor ecosystem into the global value chain, with a three pillar approach - to deepen its research and development (R&D) in India, to accelerate the semiconductor ecosystem in India and to foster talent in India.
