India, Aug. 3 -- July turned out to be an action-packed month for the Indian startup ecosystem. The biggest headline came from Skyroot Aerospace, which became the first Indian private company to launch a rocket into space.

On the unicorn front, the country welcomed its 132nd unicorn and the third one in the AI space in the form of Emergent. The startup's mega $130 Mn fundraise provided a strong boost to the ecosystem's total venture inflow.

Overall, Indian startups raised over $800 Mn in July, compared to nearly $2 Bn secured in June, which saw CRED's $900 Mn mega round.
