Youth Congress protests at Lok Bhawan over NEET paper leak
RANCHI, June 3 -- Hundreds of Youth Congress workers, led by Ranchi Mahanagar Youth Wing President Gaurav Singh, staged a siege of Lok Bhawan on Tuesday to protest the ongoing paper leak scandals rocking the NEET-UG 2026 and CBSE Board examinations.
The demonstration quickly escalated into a heated showdown as demonstrators breached security barricades, demanding accountability for millions of compromised students. Protesters chanted anti-government slogans, carrying placards that called for systemic overhauls and the immediate termination of top education officials.
Gaurav Singh launched a scathing attack on the Central Government during his address to the massive gathering.
"More than 2 million students across the country appeared for this examination. Imagine the immense struggle and hard work with which they must have prepared and sat for it. Every single member of their families-pinning their hopes on the success of their sons and daughters-must be heartbroken right now. The Modi-led Central Government has, in a mere few seconds, undone years of hard work," said Singh.
Singh further asserted that a highly organised "paper mafia" is systematically operating under the current regime to destroy the efforts of poor and hardworking students. He vowed to fight for student rights until his very last breath.
The Youth Congress leadership issued a strict three-point demand list to the administration. The demands included a comprehensive inquiry into the 2026 leaks, an outright ban on the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Other demands included fast-track legal proceedings and strict punishment against the culprits to restore transparency, an immediate end to playing with student futures, and a mandate to conduct the compromised examinations afresh.
High-profile state leaders, including Jharkhand Youth Congress Vice Presidents Vicky Thakur and Shilpi Verma, alongside several assembly presidents and hundreds of grassroots workers, joined the siege, promising to intensify national protests if demands are ignored....
