Jamshedpur, June 22 -- The internal wrangling of the Seraikela-Kharsawan district unit of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has come to fore with its district chief cancelling the joining of hundreds of political leaders and workers at the behest of ex-Congress leader Kalipado Soren in the presence of JMM's Singhbhum MP Joba Majhi on June 13, party leaders said on Sunday. Former veteran district Congress leader Kalipado Soren himself had quit Congress and joined the JMM at the Seraikela Town Hall in the presence of the JMM central general secretary Vinod Pandey on June 3 last. JMM sources said Soren, an academician and Jharkhand separate state movement activist, has, however, not officially taken the JMM membership as yet. "The joining event at the Gamharia residence of Kalipado Soren was organised without prior consent and consultation of the Seraikela-Kharsawan district JMM committee, which is against the party organisational rules and discipline. Hence, joining the JMM by political leaders like BT Das, Mamata Bez and their supporters in that event is being declared null and void with immediate effect. In addition, prior consent of the district committee has been now made mandatory for any such event like joining ceremony, meetings and organisational activities," Suvendu Mahto, JMM Seraikela-Kharsawan district president, said in a press statement on Sunday. "In future, legal action will be taken against people expelled, suspended from JMM and unauthorised by the party if they use the party name, flag, banner and other JMM symbols. Disciplinary action will be taken without any prior notice against people participating in anti-party activities and working against the party constitution without district committee's prior permission," the statement has further warned. "JMM is a party founded and run on the supreme sacrifices of many martyrs, inspiration of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and leadership of the party central president CM Hemant Soren. No indiscipline or anti-party activity will be tolerated in the party at block, district or any other level. We all need to work together to deliver the benefits of the state government's projects and policies," Mahto told HT on Sunday. "Most of the leaders and workers led by BT Das and Mamata Bez are basically supporters of party-deserter former CM and now BJP leader Champai Soren. They worked for Champai Soren and BJP even during the recently concluded municipal elections in Seraikela-Kharsawan district," a senior JMM leader said....
