Woman molested, clothes torn by 3 men in Nalanda
PATNA, April 1 -- A married woman was grabbed, groped and molested by three men who filmed the entire assault and circulated it on social media, sending shocks across the state. The incident took place in Nalanda's Noorsarai police station area. She was recused by locals.
It is alleged that an attempt was made to gang-rape the woman, whose husband works in Nashik (Maharashtra) while she lives with her parents in a village.
The incident took place when the victim, a mother of two, was returning home after collecting rations from a PDS shop on the evening of March 26. Taking advantage of the darkness, three youths from the village caught her midway, forcibly dragged her towards a field, and tried to outrage her modesty. She somehow managed to save herself and filed a police complaint on March 27.
The accused, later uploaded the video on social media including Instagram. The 42-second video was made viral in 3 clips. In the video, it is clearly seen that the woman is being forcibly taken away, she is constantly pleading to be left alone, but the accused are laughing, abusing her, and asking to make a video. In the video, a large number of people are seen walking behind the accused.
According to the FIR, the three accused pushed the woman to the ground, tore her clothes and started misbehaving with her. One of the accused molested her while the other two tried to rape her. Hearing the woman's screams, some villagers rushed to the spot and rescued her.
Advocate Tejaswita Radha said the incident has exposed a dangerous trend. Now, criminals are not only committing the crime, but also making a video of it and circulating it.
