PATNA, Sept. 17 -- Vigilance investigation bureau (VIB) on Wednesday launched searches at three locations linked to Satyendra Kumar Chaudhary, Superintending Engineer (SE) of the building construction department, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The SE's five storey house raided in Patna was found equipped with 10 air-conditioners, luxurious furniture , solar panel and other costly and modern house furnishings, officials said. The searches are being conducted in Patna and Purnea on the strength of warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Court in Patna after VIB registered a DA case of Rs 1.97 crore against the SE. The focus of the VIB is on the source of money involved in the purchase of land and houses, their ownership and properties. Financial records related to the officials and their families are also being examined. The five storey luxurious 'Swastik residence' at Nikunj Colony in Phulwari Sharif (Patna) has also been under the scanner.
