BETTIAH, May 21 -- Three people, including two government teachers, were arrested in Bihar's East Champaran district for allegedly preparing a fake transfer certificate (TC) to falsely project an adult accused as a minor in connection with a girl's abduction case registered against him in 2022, police said on Wednesday.
Rajeev Ranjan, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Town police station in Motihari, said the accused, identified as Bhola Kumar, allegedly forged educational documents to avail the benefit of the Juvenile Justice Act and seek placement in a remand home instead of jail.

He was projected as a juvenile through a forged transfer certificate prepared by two government teachers, including a woman teacher posted at Rajkiya Madhya Vidyalaya, Parewa," the SHO said.
Police said the forged certificate of the accused, who was enrolled at Rajkiya Madhya Vidyalaya, Parewa, was submitted before the Juvenile Justice Board, East Champaran, Motihari.
A case (453/26) was registered at the Motihari Town police station after doubts were raised over the authenticity of the documents. Acting on the complaint, police registered case number 453/26 on May 19, 2026, under Sections 336(3), 318(4), 338, 229(1), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation.
