PATNA, July 12 -- The Bihar Special Task Force (STF) unearthed two illegal mini gun factories in Nalanda and Bhagalpur, arrested 10 persons in separate raids, and seized finished and unfinished firearms, cartridges and equipment used to manufacture illegal weapons, police said on Saturday. According to Director General (Operations) Kundan Krishnan, acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the Bihar STF and police from Gaya and Nalanda raided Sudhi village under Islampur police station in Nalanda district and unearthed a mini gun factory. Police seized country-made pistols, a lathe machine, base machines, a hand grinder, hand drill machines, an electric cutter, a welding machine and a generator from a house. They also arrested a skilled labourer, identified as Raman Vishwakarma. "Police raided Sudhi village after arresting four armed criminals -- Mohammad Sanovar Khan, Mohammad Faizan Khan, Mohammad Altmas Khan and Ankit Kumar -- from the Nimchak Bathani area in Gaya. Four country-made pistols, four live cartridges and a Scorpio vehicle were recovered from their possession. They were arrested after the STF received information that Sanovar had hatched a plan to kill a man in Gaya and had arranged arms and ammunition for the crime," the DG said. He further said that acting on inputs from the Kolkata STF, a joint team of the Bihar STF, Bhagalpur police and the Kolkata STF raided Harnath village under Shahkund police station in Bhagalpur district and busted another mini gun factory. Police recovered eight mobile phones, an air gun, an unfinished pistol body, barrels, four live cartridges, two motorcycles, two gas cylinders, a drill machine, welding machines, tools and other equipment used for manufacturing illegal firearms. When the police team reached the spot, they found five persons, four of them from Munger, engaged in manufacturing illegal firearms. The arrested people have been identified as Mohammad Niraaz Ansari, Mohammad Shamim alias Maina, Mohammad Maishar, Mohammad Qasim and Mohammad Zabbar Ansari....
