Dehradun, Aug. 10 -- The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttarakhand police has busted a cyber fraud racket that allegedly hacked the online platform of Doon International School (DIS) and conned parents through fake fee payment messages. Three men from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, have been arrested in the case. The accused -- Mohammad Rizwan (19), Sudama Diwakar, and Mohammad Faraz (18) -- allegedly created a replica of the school's "SchoolPad" app, gained unauthorised access to the real platform, and extracted confidential data of students from the City Campus and Riverside branches in Dehradun, as well as the Mohali branch in Punjab. According to police, the trio then sent parents and students an "official-looking" message via WhatsApp and other social media platforms, demanding Rs.4,990 for an "AI-enabled robotics lab." The message appeared genuine, complete with the school's branding, and misled recipients into transferring money to bank accounts controlled by the gang.
