BETTIAH, Aug. 31 -- Three migrant workers from East Champaran's Adapur block are missing after flash floods swayed through Nepal's Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts on August 26, taking the total number of missing to 14 from the Champaran region, said officials on Sunday. Adapur's circle officer Pragya Nainam said that three more people who were employed as masons in Nepal are traceless after the tragedy struck. "These three people are apart from five others from Adapur circle who are missing," he said. Those missing are Brijkishore Paswan and Umesh Prasad, both residents of Uchidih village under Adapur police station area, and Ram Karan Kumar, a resident of Chikni village under Harpur police station. Migrant worker Brijkishore's brother Munna Paswan, who returned to his village two days before the tragedy struck, said, "My brother was working as mason at the construction site of a hydropower in Timure in Rasuwa district of Nepal. He is not reachable after the flash floods." Adapur-based Umesh's brother travelled to Narayanghat in Nepal looking for him, but had to return empty-handed as several roads were damaged by the disaster and movement remained severely disrupted. "We are waiting for information on those who could not be contacted by their family," said Saurabh Suman Yadav, district magistrate, East Champaran. According to officials, apart from the three now missing, five people from Lala Parsa village under Adapur police station area in Raxaul sub-division are traceless. Besides, three migrant laborers from Jagiraha in Bathana panchayat under Kesariya police station area of East Champaran are missing and three from Chanpatia block of West Champaran who worked as workers in Nepal have been missing since the catastrophe struck Nepal. In West Champaran, some anxious families have set off for Kathmandu and Pokhara for information about those missing. At Turahapatti in Chanpatia, Salman Alam, 32, said, "We received a photograph showing my father Arman Ansari's body recovered from Pokhara in Nepal. I am going to Pokhara now along with my maternal uncle." In East Champaran, Krishna Sah and Ganesh Sah are distressed, unable to contact their three missing kins - Ram Babu Sah, 51, Pramod Kumar Sah, 45, and Munir Kumar. Ram Babu's brother Birendra Sah along with two other relatives is en route to Kathmandu....
