PATNA, Sept. 5 -- Police detained three people, including a father-son duo, after man and his nephew were stabbed to death at Khajraitha village in Khagaria district on Thursday night, police said. The deceased were indentified as Gaurav Kumar, 23, and Ankur Kumar, 22, residents of Khajraitha village under the Bharatkhand police station. Gaurav was Ankur's uncle,police added. The deceased Gaurav's mother Savita Devi told the police that there was a dispute with one Pankaj Chaudhary related to financial transactions. An altercation took place between the two parties. "A panchayat was also held regarding this matter and it was resolved. The family members alleged that this dispute took a bloody turn and both young men were stabbed. They took them immediately to Begusarai. However, Ankur died on the way to the hospital, and Gaurav succumbed to his injuries. "Gaurav was our only son," she said. Soon after the incident, the police took possession of both bodies and conducted post-mortems. The police later handed them over to the family members. Tension gripped the village over the incident as police are camp in the village.
