Three girls rescued from dance troupe in Bhojpur
ARA, July 16 -- Three minor girls trapped in a dance troupe were rescued in a joint operation of district operation and Bhojpur police Udwantnagar police station area of Bhojpur district on Wednesday, official said.
The operation was part of the "Operation Naya Savera 3.0", a major campaign launched by the Bihar Police and the Labor Resources Department to combat human trafficking, child labour, and the exploitation of minors in orchestra and theatre groups.
The rescued girls hail Chhattisgarh and were employed in an orchestra group in Ara. They were rescued when a local tipped to the police about their presence in the dance troupe.
"The real place of these girls is not the stage, but the school classroom. Every child has the right to a safe environment, education and a respectable childhood," said Bhojpur SP Raj.
The SP added that exploitation of children is a serious crime and if anyone notices such an exploitation, he must inform the police and administration at the Child Helpline number 1098.
Minor girls are frequently trafficked into Bihar's orchestra groups, where they are trapped in abusive environments, debt bondage, and sexual exploitation under the guise of entertainment.
Between March 2025 and May 2026 alone, over 250 minor girls were rescued from orchestra networks across the state....
