SVU conducts raids at premises of contractor rishu shree
PATNA, May 28 -- Nine days after the dismissal of Criminal Writ Miscellaneous petition by the Patna High Court in connection with Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), sleuths of Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) carried out raids/searches at the premises of Bihar's controversial and high-profile contractor Rishu Shree.
A case against Rishu Shree and his associates was registered on April 30, 2025 with the SVU after his activities came to light, but he is said to have managed to leave the country.
During searches, the SVU recovered a huge quantity of diamonds, gold and silver jewellery worth Rs.2-crore, besides bundles of notes, from his house, officials familiar with the matter said. The contractor, known for high-profile links in the corridors of power, is accused of manipulating the government tender process to fraudulently earn huge profits for his company, while the government suffered losses.
"Due to his links with the people who mattered, he played with the tender process in connivance with officials," said a senior official.
"Today an eight-member team of SVU raided the flat of contractor Rishu Shree at Kantaram Sakhi Enclave in Mithapur, Patna. Initial investigation revealed that he tried to take financial benefits through gross irregularities in the tender process in connivance with the officials," the officer added....
