Siwan SP, in row over use of force on students, switched in shake-up
PATNA, Sept. 5 -- The Bihar home department late on Friday transferred more than a dozen IAS and IPS officers, including Puran Kumar Jha, superintendent of police of Siwan district who was embroiled in a row over alleged use of force on protesting students, including firing with AK-47 rifles. Jha has been made SP of the vigilance investigation bureau (VIB).
Jha's transfer is believed to have been done after firce protest from the opposition leaders over the police violence that has allegedly left many students injured during the Bihar Bandh called by several student and political organisations.
In other trasnfers, Komal Meena has been made as superintendent of police (SP) of Patna Rural.
Sushma Sagar, who was posted as ASP in Patna, has been made Patna Law and Order SDPO. Aniket Kumar Dwivedi, former ASP of Samastipur, has been sent to Jehanabad as SDPO-1. Deepti Monali, ASP of Gaya, has also been sent to Jamui as SDPO.
Naveen Kumar, a 2011-batch IAS officer, currently serving as special secretary of the prohibition, excise and registration department, with additional charge of secretary-in-charge of the information and public relations department and managing director of the Bihar State Beverages Corporation, has now been given the additional charge of managing director of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA). Industries Department Secretary Kundan Kumar has been relieved of the additional charge of managing director of BIADA.
Vivek Ranjan Maitreya, a 2017-batch IAS officer, has been transferred from the post of additional secretary in the information and public relations department. He will now be the director of sports state. The state transport commissioner Arif Ahsan, a 2017 batch IAS officer, who was holding additional charge of sports director, will now be relieved from the additional charge.
Anil Kumar, a 2017-batch IAS officer, has been shifted as managing director of the Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Ltd from the post of director of information and public relations. He was also holding the additional charge of managing director of the Bihar State Samvad Samiti.
Abhishek Palasia, a 2020-batch IAS officer, will be managing director of the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited. He has been transferred from his current post as joint secretary of the road construction department. Palasia would continue to hold the additional charge of joint secretary of information and public relations department until further order.
Shrikant Kundalik Khandekar, a 2020 IAS officer, a joint secretary of the chief minister's secretariat, has been given additional charge as joint secretary in the industries department until further orders....
