Sitamarhi: 3 wanted criminals nabbed after police encounter
PATNA, Oct. 8 -- STF and Bihar Police arrested three wanted criminals, including a main suspect in the sensational murder of property dealer Dinesh Yadav, after an encounter in Bihar's Sitamarhi district on Wednesday. All three suffered bullet injuries and were admitted to hospital.
Police said the criminals were riding a motorcycle without a registration number and tried to flee upon seeing the police. When the police tried to stop them, they opened fire, which the police returned, injuring them in the retaliatory firing.
According to DG (Operation) Kundan Krishnan, a joint team of STF and Sitamarhi police team recovered 772 live cartridges of different bore, three firearms including a .32 bore Regular Archery pistol-commonly known as a Pistol crossbow -- from the custody of criminals.
Police suspect that two of the recovered pistols were used in Dinesh Yadav's murder.
Police identified the trio as Sunil Kushwaha from Riga, Manishankar Singh from the Belasand area, and Indal Kumar Mahto from the Gadh area, Sitamarhi Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Ranjan said, adding that Kushwaha is the main suspect in the Dinesh Yadav murder case.
Sitamarhi SP said the three arrested have criminal records and are allegedly involved in several serious cases, including robbery and murder. "Two of the accused Manishankar and Indal, were wanted in the customer service point (CSP) owner loot case in the Chiraiya police station area of East Champaran. The concerned police had already announced rewards of Rs.15,000 each in the CSP loot case," said the SP....
