PURNEA, Nov. 5 -- Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who took part in a BJP rally against Opposition's campaign against chief election commissioner (ECC) and Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, extolled the efforts of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to accomplishing a massive task of carrying out the exercise, especially in geographically sensitive regions like Bihar's Seemanchal, West Bengal and Assam, to cast out infiltrators. Sarma was in Purnea to lead the BJP's "Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao Padyatra" (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy Foot March) is a nationwide political campaign launched by the BJP. He said that all Sanatanis must unite to give befitting reply to those who are questioning the veracity of the SIR after getting defeated in successive elections. Responding to LoP in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's repeated claims of "vote theft' in India, Sarma that the BJP is stealing hearts of people by bringing about cultural and religious changes like construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. "If EVMs were stolen, how Rahulji, Priyankaji and even Purnea's MP Pappu Yadav could win the elections? When we win, you accuse us of stealing votes, but when you win the elections, the EVMs, that you accuse to be manipulated, suddenly become all right," he quipped. He took a potshot on Rahul saying that while Sachin Tendulkar has created a record of hundred centuries in world cricket, Rahul is on the way to create record of hundred electoral defeats. He also asked Rahul to vie for becoming Prime Minister of Bangladesh if he is sympathetic towards Bangladeshi infiltrators. "Rahul Gandhi ji has been protecting Bangladeshi infiltrators and hence we have no objection to his becoming PM of Bangladesh," the Assam CM said. He also accused Rahul of misleading youths of India. "Rahul Gandhi is 57 years old. However, he keeps claiming to be a young leader. In three years time, he will be senior citizen. I hope youths of India will see through his dirty game," he said.....
