PATNA, Sept. 20 -- Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday said that government has a target of creating employment for 10 million women through various government schemes including CM Rojgaar Yojana and highlighted how women are being economically empowered through Jeevika programme, while speaking after inaugurating the 25th foundation day of the Bihar state Women Commission organised at Bapu Bhawan. CM Choudhary said women in Bihar were rapidly progressing and stressed how 50% reservation to women in panchayati raj institutions and urban local bodies had given further empowerment to them. The CM said the state government is also providing incentives to girls preparing for competitive examinations while there is target to provide 1,000 girl students an incentive of Rs. 10,000 per month for pursuing higher studies and research. "We have constituted the police didis under which police personnel are deployed in and around schools and colleges for safety of girl students," the CM said.
