Samastipur railway labels station flooding reports 'misleading'
SAMASTIPUR, Sept. 7 -- The Samastipur railway division on Sunday dismissed recent social media reports alleging that flooding had submerged platforms at the Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Bagaha, and Bettiah stations, labelling the claims as "misleading and baseless".
The railway administration said that several videos making such claims had been circulating on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube and other social media platforms for the past 10-15 days.
"It is clarified that all such videos and claims are completely false, misleading and baseless," the Samastipur rail division administration said in a statement, adding that train operations and passenger facilities at the four stations were functioning normally.
According to the railway administration, the circulation of such content appeared aimed at creating unnecessary fear, confusion and panic among passengers and the general public.
The division said it had lodged formal complaints and objections with the concerned social media platforms.
It also said suspicious profiles and individuals involved in posting misleading videos and spreading rumours had been identified and legal action was being initiated against them as per the rules....
