Rs.20L worth jewellery looted from Patna shop
PATNA, April 20 -- On the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, five unidentified criminals wearing helmets on two bikes looted ornaments worth Rs.20 lakh from Shri Lakshmi Alankar Jewellery shop at New Khana colony under Ramkrishnagar police station on Sunday noon. No arrests had been made so far in this case, police said.
Police said, "Three of the miscreants entered the shop while two remained waiting outside on a bike. The miscreants held the shopkeeper and customers hostage and forced them to sit in a corner. When shopkeeper, Dhananjay Kumar, attempted to resist, the miscreants reportedly assaulted him with a pistol, causing him head injuries," said a police officer.
On being informed, a police team from Ramkrishna Nagar station, along with senior officers rushed to the spot and investigated the matter.
The incident was recorded in CCTV of the shop. A team from the special task force also joined the investigation, and CCTV footage from nearby locations was being examined to identify the criminals involved in the case, police added.
City SP, (East) Parichay Kumar said the robbery was carried out by five miscreants wearing helmets in which three entered the shop while two were outside the shop.
"The shopkeeper told the police that the criminals took away jewellery worth Rs.15 lakh to Rs.20 lakh in 100 grams gold and 3.5 kg silver. Raids are on to trace the criminals," he added....
