India, Oct. 25 -- A retired decorator from Woking, UK, sold 41 complete Pokemon card sets for £1.56 million (approx Rs.19.81 crore) at Ewbank's Auctioneers on October 21, far exceeding their £250,000 (approx Rs.3.18 crore) estimate. Bought between 1999 and 2009 as an investment inspired by his son's hobby, the sets lay in his attic for 15 years. He discovered their potential value after reading about a Pokemon card selling for over £6,000 (approx Rs.7.63 lakh). He kept one of his 42 sets as a souvenir.
