Retd bank employee, wife found murdered
PATNA, July 22 -- A retired bank employee and his wife were found murdered on different floors of their house at Ram Bagh Colony in Muzaffarpur late on Monday, police said on Tuesday.
The incident came to light after Nikhil Kanwar, an engineer who lives in Bengaluru, was unable to contact his parents Ashok Kunwar, 75, and Neelam Kunwar, 70, at their Muzaffarpur house, and found CCTV camera amiss. Nikhil called his neighbour, Pintu Kumar, for a welfare check. When Pintu entered the house, he found Ashok's body in a pool of blood on the first floor. As he checked the rest of the house, he found Neelam's body with a rope tied around her neck and her mouth tied with tape on the third floor. Pintu alerted the police. "Several stab wounds were found on Ashok's body. Initial investigation suggests the woman was strangled to death. Both bodies were sent for autopsy. An FSL team and a dog squad were also deployed. Prima facie, it appears the murders were planned," an officer said.
CCTV footage from surrounding areas is being scanned to identify the accused. "A CCTV footage of three suspects fleeing on a bike has been found and police are studying it," Muzaffarpur SSP Kantesh Mishra said....
