PATNA, July 29 -- RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had cancelled one of his '"tour of Bihar" recently upon realising that the student unrest and the "growing unpopularity" of his government would lead to BJP's defeat in the Bankipur assembly bypoll. Yadav, who is the leader of opposition in the state assembly, claimed that Modi had planned to visit the state to inaugurate a bridge. The ruling BJP , however, dubbed Yadav's claim as just a baseless talk and a bid to divert people's attention from his own absence from the state for last many weeks. "Tejashwi talks all baseless things. There was no plan of Prime Minister to visit the state before the Bankipur bypoll. The leader of the opposition should first explain to people of the state why did he skip the monsoon session recently and where had he gone in last few weeks," said Prem Ranjan Patel, state BJP spokesperson. Ranjan added, "He is a non-serious player in politics and just gives sweeping statements without any facts."...
