GAYA ji, Sept. 25 -- Extensive arrangements have been made by the Bihar Tourism Department and the Gaya District Administration for pilgrims visiting Gaya Ji during this Pitri Paksha Mela, to be held from September 25 to October 10. Fountains in the Falgu River and a laser-light-show, depicting Gaya Ji's historical and religious significance will be the special attractions this year. The administration this year is expecting a record 5 million pilgrims The number of pilgrims has quadrupled from 940,000 to over 3.2 million between 2022 and 2025. In 2022, a total of 940,000 pilgrims visited Gaya Ji. The number increased to 2.9 million in 2023, was 3 million in 2024 and exceeded 3.2 million in 2025, officials said. District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar said that several new measures have been implemented for pilgrims. Arrangements have been made for stay of over 70,000 pilgrims - 20,000 by the administration, including a 2,500-bed tent city at Gandhi Maidan, and private 50,000 by pilgrimage priests, dharmshalas and hotels....
