Oppn to move to people's Court against S.I.R.: LoP
PATNA, Oct. 1 -- Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Wednesday said that the Opposition parties would now go to the people's court to raise the issue of alleged manipulations in the electoral rolls through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise being done across India and also demand the resignation of chief election commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Yadav said that the recent media reports of how there were alleged differences between two election commissioners and CEC over the process of SIR had made it evident that there have been big manipulation in updating the rolls. Yadav alleged that the Election Commission's role has been exposed, which he said has helped the BJP to win election after election.
"We will highlight these issues and demand the CEC's resignation in the people's court now," Yadav said, after attending the INDIA bloc meeting of Opposition parties....
