PATNA, Sept. 10 -- The national investigation agency (NIA) raided an apartment under Chitragupt Nagar police station in Patna on Wednesday, as part of its ongoing investigation into the June 17 bomb attack at the RSS office in Ranchi, police said. This follows an operation on September 8, during which the agency arrested a man and seized Rs.20 lakh in cash, subsequently alerting the income tax department. During Wednesday's operation, an eight-member NIA team raided two flats, 609 and 1206, reportedly registered in the name of one Sandeep Gupta and the other in the name of his company. Sandeep has been detained by the NIA and was brought along by the raiding team. A senior police officer said that the NIA was raiding after getting input by a man arrested in New Delhi in connection with a bomb attack on RSS office on June 17, 2026 at Nivaranpur area under Chutia police station in Ranchi. Officials said the NIA had earlier raided the same apartment and arrested a man involved in terrorist activities. "The man was wanted by the NIA, who was arrested from flat no-606 of Sai Kusum Infinity apartment. The agency also took a man identified as Anmol Kumar Modi into custody and recovered Rs.20 lakh in cash in his possession and informed the income tax department for further investigation. These actions are part of a broader crackdown, with the NIA currently searching approximately 20 locations across Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Bihar, Rajasthan, Karnataka, West Bengal, and Telangana in connection with the attack, officials said....
