RANCHI, June 11 -- Returning officer Ranjeet Kumar on Wednesday accepted the nomination of NDA-backed Independent candidate for Rajya Sabha polls in Jharkhand, Parimal Nathwani, whose papers came under scanner after Congress legislator Naman Kogari filed a plaint on Tuesday raising objections citing 'discrepancies' that allegedly violated the electoral rules. Ranjeet Kumar, passed a reasoned order on the complaint hours after hearing both sides on Wednesday. The hearing occurred amid protests by Congress workers led by senior party leaders outside the Assembly, who sought the cancellation of Nathwani's nomination.
