Muzaffarpur civil court gets bomb threat
BETTIAH, March 27 -- The Muzaffarpur civil court on Thursday received an email allegedly threatening to blow up the premises, officials said. The email was sent to the district judge's official email ID, following which the court complex was evacuated and combed.
Muzaffarpur's senior superintendent of police (SSP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra said that the threat was taken seriously and immediate action was initiated.
"The court premises were promptly evacuated and every nook and corner of the court was thoroughly searched with the help of the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dog teams. But nothing suspicious was found so far," the SSP said.
Muzaffarpur's deputy superintendent of police (Town) Suresh Kumar said the email was received on the district judge's official email ID, where the sender referred to himself as having court/staff/ISI links and claimed the act was in protest against atrocities against women in Tamil Nadu.
"The content of the mail was not very explicit, though it was a threatening email," said the deputy superintendent of police.
"It alleged that the atrocities in Tamil Nadu are on the rise... Rape cases of women are being suppressed... Will blow up the court in protest against these atrocities," he said, referring to the email's contents....
