Mother of youth killed in Bhojpur encounter puts off fast-unto-death
ARA, July 10 -- The mother of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, who was allegedly killed in an encounter by police on June 17, has postponed her fast-unto-death that she was about to undertake from July 9, citing poor health, police said on Thursday.
Shahpur station house officer (SHO) Santosh Kumar Singh confirmed that Asha Devi has postponed her hunger strike.
Meanwhile, statements of Devi, Tiwari's younger brother Chandan Tiwari and their elder brother's wife Suman Devi were recorded in the court before judicial magistrates Gitika Tripathi and Deepak Kumar Singh on Wednesday.
A judicial inquiry, led by former justice of Patna high court Vinod Kumar Sinha, has also been initiated in the matter. Summons have been issued to witnesses for their statements.
The district administration has provided an office for conducting the judicial enquiry in Tiwari's encounter case. The team will probably submit its report to the state within six months....
