PATNA, Sept. 22 -- Amid the outrage over a Class 10 girl being molested by miscreants in Jamui, a Class 10 girl student has been allegedly kidnapped, raped and murdered by three men, police and family of the girl said on Monday. According to police, the body of the girl, a minor, was found injured near a track at Alamnagar railway station in Lucknow on September 19 and later died on the same day during treatment. The girl had gone missing on September 18, according to the complaint filed by the family of the girl. The family accused three youths of the same village of abducting and sexually assaulting her and causing her death. The police has registered a case under sections 103(1), 140(3), 70(2), 62(2) of the BNS and sections 4 and 6 of the Pocso Act. An accused named Laxman Kumar has also been arrested, while the raids were underway to nab other two, one of whom is a minor, said the police. Family told the police that the girl left home around noon on September 18 to attend school but did not return. "The family tried everywhere but failed to trace the girl," a family member said. Police said that three youths, two of them were friends with the girl, forcibly abducted the girl and went to Uttar Pradesh. "The family lodged a case against three youths on charge of abduction, rape and murder. The incident came to light after Lucknow railway police called the family and informed them about the incident on September 19 morning. They also informed the family that the girl was found injured near the railway tracks close to Alamnagar railway station. The family immediately went to Alamnagar, where they came to know that the girl died during treatment. Lucknow police also recovered a mobile phone from the crime scene," said a police officer.
