Dhanbad, Feb. 27 -- A section of an abandoned coal mine of Eastern Coalfields Limited reportedly collapsed during alleged illegal mining at Palasthali village under Nala block of Jamtara district, on Jharkhand-West Bengal border, said people in the know. They said the incident occurred in the early hours when some persons entered the closed mine to extract coal. A portion of the tunnel allegedly caved in, trapping those inside.
