MBBS doctor arrested in TRE-3 paper leak case
PATNA, July 29 -- Sleuths of Economic Offences Unit (EOU) on Tuesday arrested one Dr Manish Kumar, allegedly another key member of the notorious "solver gang" led by Sanjeev Singh alias Lutan Mukhiya in organised question paper leak cases, officials said, adding the arrest was made based on evidence of his involvement in the case registered with EOU in March 2024.
Probe revealed that Manish, a resident of Nehalpur village under Parasbigha police station area of Jehanabad district, was allegedly in touch with Dr Shiv Kumar, the alleged kingpin of the case. It is alleged that through this network, a conspiracy was hatched to leak the TRE exam paper, conducted by BPSC.
The kingpin had assured Manish he'd provide Rs.50,000 per candidate. Manish was sent to judicial custody. According to officials, EOU has arrested 296 accused in the TRE-3 question paper leak case so far. Raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining accused. "Three days before TRE-3 exam on March 15, 2024, Manish had transported around 30 candidates in Kohinoor hotel at Hajaribagh (Jharkhand) from Patna by a reserve vehicle, where they allegedly memorised the leaked paper. After dropping them he returned to Patna. Manish completed his MBBS from NMCH, Patna, in 2021. He was posted in Kaimur and was preparing for PG after resigning from government service.
