Man tricks nephew into travelling across K'taka with parents' bodies
Bengaluru, Nov. 7 -- An 11-year-old boy travelled across Karnataka with his uncle in a car carrying the bodies of his parents, packed in plastic bags, believing they were on a holiday. Whenever he asked about the bags being thrown out of the vehicle, his uncle, Indusekar alias Sekar, told him they contained garbage. When he asked about his parents, the accused changed the subject.
The boy, rescued after police arrested Indusekar in the murder of his wife and seven members of her family on Friday, told mediapersons that his uncle took him to Kempegowda International Airport, Kukke Subrahmanya temple (in Dakshina Kannada district), Dharmasthala and Sringeri.
"Whenever I asked about my parents, he changed the topic and told me that we were going on a trip. He kept throwing big plastic bags out of the car and, when I asked him about it, he said he was throwing garbage," the boy said.
During interrogation, Indusekar ( Was he a cab driver?) allegedly confessed to killing seven relatives including his wife, said Bengaluru police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh. He said, "The accused claimed to have committed the murders over 15 to 20 days, a timeline that is still being verified. He is giving a version that he called them one by one, murdered them, and disposed of the bodies in places he has indicated. We are verifying this with the district SPs of those areas."
Police have recovered the seven-year-old child's body following an extensive search near Nandi Hills and launched a search for the remaining six. "Six bodies are yet to be found," Singh added. The boy's parents, Shankar and Nalini, were among the seven people Indusekar allegedly murdered, said police. Shankar is the brother-in-law of the accused. The other victims include his wife Sunita, mother-in-law Rupavathi, another brother-in-law Shivakumar, Shivakumar's wife Divya and their seven-year-old son Puneeth. The accused committed the murders at his house in the Rajajinagar police station limits and disposed of the bodies at different locations across Karnataka, police said.
The boy said his family attended a family dinner gathering at Indusekar's house on October 31. Though they planned to leave afterwards, the accused insisted they stay.
He recalled seeing his parents together at home that night. When he woke up the following morning, his father was missing. His mother went outside to look for him, but when the boy tried to follow her, his elder sister, who is the accused's daughter, pulled him back....
