PATNA, July 24 -- A 29-year-old man has been arrested by Bihar police in Rajasthan's Jaipur for allegedly issuing bomb threats to the Patna high court, Sardar Patel Bhawan (police headquarters) and Patna civil court through email, officers said on Thursday. Anish Kumar Verma was taken into custody after an investigation linked him to an email account that allegedly carried a post warning of explosions on July 12. The accused also used abusive language against officials in his mail sent to the headquarters's official account. Police said that Verma, a post-graduate, is a resident of East Patel Nagar under Shastri Nagar police station in Patna. Officers seized his mobile phone used to send the threatening emails. He was brought to Bihar and is being produced before the competent court. He has been charged under BNS sections 352(2) (deliberate insults to provoke a breach of public peace), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), 351(4) (criminal intimidation using anonymous communication), 132 (criminal force against public servant to deter them from performing official duties) and section 66F (cyber terrorism) of IT Act. Patna SSP Kartikey K Sharma said that a SIT comprising cyber cell, Patna ATS and EOU cracked the case. "Police interrogated him thoroughly. His family claimed that he has been depressed for some time. The accused resides in Jaipur to prepare for competitive exams," he added....
