PATNA, July 25 -- Ahead of the Bihar Bandh today, the Patna police detained CPI-ML(liberation) MLA from Paliganj, Sandeep Saurabh, from his official residence on Friday evening. He is named in one of the FIRs filed by a BJP activist relating to the AISA-sponsored student protests held in Patna on Wednesday . Saurabh has been charged of attempt to murder, intimidation and snatching of gold ornaments in the FIR. Just before being taken into police custody, MLA Sandeep Saurabh released a video message, stating that police arrived and took custody of all the people present at his Veer Chand Patel Marg residence. He alleged that those who had come to meet him were also arrested and sent to the police station. "I came to my bedroom on the pretext of getting some essential items and recorded the video message," he added. In the video, Sandeep Saurabh strongly protested against the police action and said that the police in Patna are indulging in intimidating tactics. He alleged that the state government was not ready to listen to anyone's voice or demand. He informed in his video message that along with him, AISA Bihar president Dhananjay had also been detained by the police and taken away in a patrol car.
