PATNA, Oct. 6 -- A 45-year-old lawyer, Guddu Ansari, was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-borne gunmen near Patel Chowk under the Town police station area of Katihar district around 10:30 am on Monday, police said. A viral video of the incident reportedly shows the assailant approaching the victim and firing at close range before fleeing the scene. Local residents had rushed the victim to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Relatives of the deceased said that the attackers were known to them. The family suspects the incident is linked to a dispute from three months ago, during which the victim had reportedly received threats. Police have recovered empty cartridges.
