Khiangte questioned for second consecutive day
RANCHI, July 30 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Jharkhand Police sought copies of OMR sheets from the successful candidates to match them with the OMR sheets available to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) in the presence of former chairman L Khiangte, officials said on Wednesday.
Khiangte was allowed to leave the CID headquarters following seven hours of questioning on Wednesday, the second consecutive day, with a direction to appear before the agency again on July 31.
"Khiangte was asked about various aspects of the recruitment process, examination conduct, candidate selection and other procedural matters. Additionally, his help was sought to cross-verify the available documents and statements recorded from other accused persons to establish the sequence of events and identify any irregularities in the recruitment process," the official said.
"On July 31, the OMR sheets will be cross-verified, and a public notice has been issued to successful students via WhatsApp to submit their copy of the OMR sheets," the official said.
Earlier, the CID had conducted searches at Khiangte's official residence and seized several documents as part of its investigation into the recruitment controversy....
