key Accused in jamshedpur murder case surrenders
JAMSHEDPUR, July 9 -- In a day of dramatic developments, the main accused in the brutal murder of Karni Sena youth wing chief Himanshu Singh -- Biswanath Mandal alias Bodra, surrendered in disguise in the court of the Jamshedpur chief judicial magistrate (CJM) and was sent to jail while the city police produced Double Down (DD) Bar and Cafe owner and BJP leader Neeraj Singh along with two more conspirators in a local court that forward them into judicial custody, officials said on Wednesday.
The Jamshedpur police had declared a cash reward of Rs.2 lakh for information about Biswanath Mandal's whereabouts, while Neeraj Singh was detained from near the Khatu Shyam Temple in Sikar district of Rajasthan on Sunday and was brought to Jamshedpur on Tuesday on a 4-day transit remand.
"Biswanath Mandal surrendered in the court of the CJM Vishal Gaurav around 3.30 pm and the court sent him to judicial custody," a lawyer told the media on Wednesday. Mandal is the main accused in the brutal deadly chopper attack on Himanshu Singh and his friend Pratyush Anand in front of the police outside the DD Bar and Cafe on June 27 midnight, which left Himanshu dead and Pratyush critically injured.
Bodra entered the Jamshedpur civil court premises in disguise with the help of a Bagbera-based lawyer. Later, Jamshedpur SSP told a press conference that co-accused, DD Bar and Cafe owner Neeraj Singh, and two others Sudarshan Mandal alias Laltu and Rajesh Mandal have been sent to judicial custody after their production in a Jamshedpur court on Wednesday....
