SAHARSA, May 24 -- A junior engineer (JE) of the Water Resources Department (WRD) was allegedly stabbed during a robbery attempt in Bihar's Saharsa district while returning home after an inspection on Friday evening. The incident occurred under the Mahishi police station limits, police said. The JE, identified as Rajesh Kumar, sustained a stab injury to his neck after criminals allegedly snatched his purse. According to police, the assailants intercepted Kumar while he was riding home on his motorcycle near the Sarouni area along the Eastern Kosi embankment late on Friday evening. Rajesh Kumar, who is undergoing treatment at the Saharsa district hospital, is reported to be out of danger.
