PATNA, Sept. 25 -- Jan Suraaj Party of Prashant Kishor on Thursday announced the names of three remaining candidates for the Bihar Legislative Council elections for eight seats - four each from the graduate and teachers' constituencies. As expected, Jan Suraaj has fielded Anuj Singh from Patna graduate seat against three-time JD-U MLC Neeraj Kumar. Anuj Singh has been in news as JD-U MLA from Mokama, Anant Singh, has thrown his weight behind Anuj Singh and has been vocal against the party nominee. Jan Suraaj has fielded Dr Vimohan Kumar from Tirhut Graduate seat and Dr Bhushan Jha from Tirhut Teacher Seat. The announcements were made by party state president Manoj Bharti. However, the battle for Patna graduate seat has become interesting due to the in-fighting within the JD-U, which has led to war of words between Anant Singh and Neeraj Kumar. Neeraj has won the seat thrice. Anuj Singh is contesting the Legislative Council election for the first time, but he had also contested the Assembly election of Jan Suraj ticket last year from Nawada. but lost. The elections are scheduled on October 23, while results will come on October 27. Of the eight seats going to polls, independents at present hold three seats, BJP two, while one seat each is with the JD-U, Congress and the CPI. BJP is yet to announce its candidates though it has two sitting seats and the candidates are already working. Jan Suraaj is in the fray for the first time and that could alter the equations. The party had announced its first list of five candidates on September 20. The five candidates include Afaq Ahmed, who is contesting re-election from Saran Teacher Constituency. He had won last time as an independent by was backed by Jan Suraj. Other candidates include advocate and educationist Divya Jyoti from Patna Teacher Constituency, SP Rai from Darbhanga Teacher seat , Ravindra Yadav from Darbhanga Graduate Constituency and Rajnish Ranjan from Kosi Graduate Constituency....
