RANCHI, July 23 -- The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) on Wednesday postponed nine upcoming exams including the Mains paper of the 14th civil services examinations citing 'unavoidable' reasons, even as commission chairman L Khiangte resigned from the post, which was accepted by Governor Santosh Gangwar, people aware of the matter said on Wednesday. The civil services Mains exam was scheduled between July 25 and 27, while eight other exams were scheduled for different dates over next two months. The other major postponed exams include the Combined Civil Services Mains Examination (Backlog), Civil Judge Junior Division (written), Assistant Public Prosecutor (Backlog) (Written), Assistant Public Prosecutor (Regular) (Written), Inspector of Factories, Project Manager (Written) and Boiler Inspector (Written). "The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Main (Written) Competitive Examination-2025 (Advertisement No. 01/2026) scheduled from 25.07.2026 to 27.07.2026 is postponed until further orders due to unavoidable reasons. The remaining examinations listed under the Proposed Exam Schedule Date: 09.07.2026 in the Examination Calendar-2026 are also postponed until further orders," the commission said in a statement....
