RANCHI, Sept. 10 -- A special Crime Investigation Department (CID) court presided by additional judicial commissioner-1 (AJC-1) Yogesh Kumar rejected the bail petition of Abhay Kumar Tiwari, the prime accused in the high-profile Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) recruitment exam scam and Umesh Kumar, another accused in the same case. A CID official close to the matter informed about the rejection of bail plea saying that the court passed the order after hearing argument presented by CID. "The allegations against Tiwari are that he manipulated results and leaked question papers to help candidates and relatives while working as a marketing manager for the exam-conducting vendor TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL), the official said. "Additionally, Tiwari ran a massive cheating network, charging desperate aspirants between Rs.5 lakh for preliminary exams and Rs.10 lakh to Rs.25 lakh for final selections. He violated severe conflict-of-interest rules and exploited his own unusual record of clearing 12 competitive exams in 13 years to lure candidates into paying heavy bribes. He tampered OMR sheets," the official further added. Tiwari moved bail after his arrest on July 22 following a 26-day agitation by job aspirants demanding a transparent investigation....
