Joint review with industrialists to resolve sector issues: Bihar min
PATNA, May 26 -- Bihar industries minister Shreyasi Singh on Monday assured industry representatives that the state government would conduct a departmental review of the issues raised by entrepreneurs and convene a joint meeting with officials and industrialists to find practical solutions to problems affecting businesses and investment in the state, a statement issued by the Bihar Industries Association (BIA) said.
The assurance came during an interaction organised by the BIA with representatives of industrial bodies and entrepreneurs from across Bihar to discuss industrialisation, investment promotion, employment generation and operational challenges faced by industries.
Addressing the gathering, the minister said the state government's "top priority" was accelerating industrialisation and creating employment opportunities for youths.
She said the concerns and suggestions raised by industrialists during the meeting had been "seriously noted" and would be examined at the departmental level before a follow-up meeting with stakeholders is held.
The discussions focused on strengthening the investment climate, ensuring effective implementation of industrial policies and resolving practical difficulties faced by existing industries.
BIA president Ram Lall Khetan said Bihar was passing through a "positive phase" of industrial development and added that the presence of "double-engine governments" at the Centre and in the state had accelerated economic growth and industrial expansion.
He highlighted the state government's target of attracting investments worth Rs.5 lakh crore in the coming years and described it as a major milestone in Bihar's industrial history, the release said....
