IOA calls for stronger tie-up with orthopaedic experts for athlete care
PATNA, April 27 -- The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has emphasised the need for closer coordination with orthopaedic professionals to ensure timely treatment and faster recovery of sportspersons' injuries, according to a press release on Sunday.
Bhupinder Singh Bajwa, a member of the IOA executive committee, underlined the urgency of forging stronger partnerships between sports bodies and medical experts at a scientific seminar organised by the City Orthopaedic Club of Patna.
"By working together, we can significantly minimise on-ground sports injuries and ensure that athletes benefit from rapid, state-of-the-art rehabilitation to return to peak performance," Bajwa said.
Dr Amulya Kumar Singh, president of Bihar Orthopaedic Association (BOA), said that the seminar also provided a platform for academic exchange, with discussions focusing on advanced trauma management techniques, innovative approaches to joint-related conditions and strategies for early-stage rehabilitation in high-impact sports.
