Illegal Farm Fencing Claims Three Lives: COPs
PATNA, Oct. 4 -- Three people, including a couple, were electrocuted in Bihar's Sitamarhi district on Saturday after coming into contact with an illegal electric fence. The victims, who were searching for their missing buffalo, were killed when they touched the energized wire, which had been set up in an agricultural field to deter wild animals from damaging crops, police said.The deceased have been identified as Islam Mansuri, his wife Rubaida Khatoon, and Hasmat Ansari.
Villagers alleged that the electric wiring was unsafe and had been laid illegally. They sought appropriate compensation for the families of the deceased. The bodies were handed over to their relatives after postmortem....
