ARARIA, Sept. 27 -- A high- intensity explosion occurred at a suspected illegal firecracker manufacturing unit in Muslim Tola under Bhargama police station in Bihar's Araria district late Friday evening, officials said, adding several people were believed to have sustained minor to major injuries. Araria SP Jitendra Kumar didn't rule out the possibility of casualty. "We searched for them at almost all private as well as government hospitals but didn't find them," the SP said. He, however, assured that the matter would be probed from all angles. According to the report a massive blast occurred while explosives were reportedly being transferred in sacks inside a residential house belonging to one Mohd Akhtar. The intensity of the explosion was so high that the building was damaged and blew a part of the house, creating panic in the area. Locals said at least six people who were inside the house were injured and some of them may have been in critical condition.
